I want you to know how we celebrate christmas:
New Year's Eve is celebrated on 31 of October, people usually celebrate it at home, at work, in the streets...Spain has lots of different traditions, people drink, eat... In Spain, we dinner whith our family.
We eat the grapes watching the TV, in every channel, there are people presenting the 12 strokes of the midnight. The presenters are usually famous people, and it is a privilege for them to present it. The channel connect with "the door of the sun" in Madrid, and when the bells strike we have to eat a grape.
I think that Spanish traditions are very beautiful, everybody enjoy it a lot, but there are a lot of people that are alone during this days, or working to maintain their family.

Song project: homecoming (pictures and descriptions)
The fifth picture is Chicago city, it is in the centre of the United States, on the south east coast of the Michigan Lake. It is in the state of Illinois. The connection to the song is that the singer was bred in that city and in the songs he says he wants to return to that city because there he met a girl when she was young.
In the first picture, we can see a boy and a girl holding their hands. They have just met each other and from that moment, they fell in love. I think that this image is really romantic because since people are young they can feel the same as old people.
The last photo is spontaneous and natural. The relationship between the photo and the song is that the man is Kanye West (the author of the song) and the girl is the woman that he knew when he was little.
In the forth picture, we can see a girl and a boy hugging each other. They’re at a train station, so maybe they are saying good bye, or they can be meeting again. As the song says, it’s always a pleasure to come back home, and meet your people.
The second image represents the part of the song when the woman leaves the man carrying with their children, and the man says that you don’t know what you have until you lose it.
The third image, are fireworks at the Lake Michigan, the singer repeat at the last verses that maybe the girl remember them.

Making scary movies
Last week we make a film for an English project, we did it in group and we make a "scary" film.
We didn't have problems editing the film or with the lights, our problem was the shooting, because we laugh a lot and we can't do it fast, we spent a long time doing it, but at the end it was good.
Making the film we learnt some new words and also how to edit films, but the best thing about shooting was that we laugh a lot. We made lots of mistakes while shooting and also we were laughing all the time.
I thing that making films was a very good experience and we learnt and laugh a lot.

Thanksgiving day
Today, is thanksgiving day and I want to say thanks to my parents, my grandparents and also to my friends, because they have thought me lots of things about life.
My parents have thought me lots of things about life, like how to respect other people, how to solve problems and also they have been with me always. They have helped me when I was having a problems and they have also thought me what things I have to do and what things I don't have to do to avoid problems.
My grandparents are also very important people for me, because they have thought me very important things that they have learned on their life.
My friend have also thought me lots of things about life that my parents or my grandparents can't thought me.
I think that all the people can teach you something, because each person is different and they know different things.

Sport profile
The
history of table tennis
Table
Tennis likely began as a social hobby in England toward the end of
the 1800's.
The
recreational game lost some of its popularity until various groups
around Europe revived it as "table tennis" in the 1920s.
The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) was formed in 1926.
The sport soon spread to Japan and other Asian nations. The Japanese
dominated the sport for much of the 50s and 60s, however the Chinese
soon closed the gap. China alone dominated the sport for much of the
60's and 70's, but after Table Tennis became an Olympic event in the
1980's, other nations such as Sweden and South Korea have joined the
top ranks.
The
most important international competitions are the World Table Tennis
Championships, the Table Tennis World Cup, the Olympics and the ITTF
Pro Tour.

Cooking Experience
On February we cooked a kebab for an English project.
We didn't have many problems, we decide very well what we were going to do.
Some people did the power point, others made the film, others did the menu and we all cooked.
It was very fun to cook the kebab, we enjoyed it a lot. A very funny thing was when Blanca forgot to cover the food processor, we enjoyed it a lot.
I think it was a very interesting and funny work and we enjoyed the experience a lot, I enjoyed it a lot and we learnt a lot about other countries

1000 cranes for peace
Are you shy or you don't have many friends?
Some people have problems making friends, because they are shy or they don't speak so much. These are some problems of some students at school or in other places where there are many children. When they speak to other people they feel very bad and they become nervous. But other people have many friends because they are very friendly and kind.
-Tips for people who want to make friends:
1-Be kind with people.
2-Speak with people trying not to get nervous.
3-Think that all people are the same.

Sadako Sasaki
